Randy had a doctors appointment last week. His infection is actually looking a little better, so they decided to hold off on the surgery at this point. He says he is doing great.

Doctors Appt today
Please pray for Randy and his family. Randy went to the doctor today to check on the infection in his leg. The infection looks better, but is not all the way healed. The doctor took him off IV antibiotics and gave him regular antibiotics. He will be on those for a few months. In June, Randy will go back to check the progress. IF the infection is NOT healed, they will have to weigh the options, both of which are major. Choice 1 would be to do surgery to remove the hardware and the cadaver bone in his leg that was put in after the cancer was removed. They would leave that out for some time to clear any infection, then do reconstructive surgery. Choice 2 would be to amputate the leg. He could get prosthetics, but this would be major as well.
So, the choice is clear - pray for healing with the antibiotics and not have to make that hard decision. I hear that Randy is still in good spirits and has a good attitude (He ROCKS of course). Keep on Rocking Randy!

Little set back
Randy went to the hospital this weekend because of a problem with swelling and redness in his leg and fever. He has since found out that he has an infection in his blood and is getting antibiotics for it. He had to get a pic-line in so they can give him the meds at home. I am pretty sure finals are next week for him. They will see the doctor soon and get some more test results. Please pray for him and for a speedy recovery.

3 Month Check Up
Randy had his 3 months (after chemo) scans today. Great news!!! The scans were clear of cancer. This is wonderful news and I am sure puts hearts at rest and peace. He is taking classes at Chemeketa and only using a cane now. He does have a Doctors appt next month to check the progress of his leg. He also has some great hair growing. You ROCK RANDY!!!
